Functional applications of high-purity industrial potassium nitrate include glass production, blasting in mining and civil engineering, metal processing and fireworks manufacturing. High purity industrial potassium nitrate is the raw material for manufacturing black explosives, firewire, flame flowers, etc. Mechanical heat treatment for quenching salt bath; Ceramic industry is used to manufacture colored glaze; High purity industrial potassium nitrate is used as glass clarifying agent to manufacture automobile lamp glass, optical glass and kinescope glass shell, etc. Also used as mineral processing agent; Edible grade high purity industrial potassium nitrate can also be used as coloring agent and preservative for meat products. In addition, potassium nitrate is now used as a method of greatly improving the power of concentrated solar power generation (CSP) plants, especially when mixed with sodium nitrate, which is an essential storage medium for storing thermal energy in CSP plants. In the production process of high-purity industrial potassium nitrate, the staff should wear masks during production to prevent inhalation of potassium nitrate dust and protect the respiratory tract; work clothes and latex gloves should be worn to protect the skin. The storage and transportation of high-purity industrial potassium nitrate should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated warehouse, away from kindling and heat sources. The warehouse temperature shall not exceed 30 ℃ and the relative humidity shall not exceed 80%. It should be stored separately from reducing agents, acids, easy (combustible) materials and active metal powders, and should not be stored in mixed storage. The storage area shall be provided with suitable materials to contain spills.
