The appearance color is colorless or light yellow transparent liquid, and the mass fraction of nitrous acid is ≤0.10. The mass fraction of the residue is ≤0.01.
Dilute nitric acid with a content of 68% has a suffocating and irritating smell, is volatile, and produces white mist in the air. It is a small droplet of nitric acid formed by the combination of nitric acid vapor and water vapor. When exposed to light, it can produce dinitrogen tetroxide and turn brown. It has strong acidity. , can turn wool fabric and animal tissue into bright yellow, can react violently with ethanol, turpentine, carbon and other organic matter, can be miscible with water, and form an azeotropic mixture with water, relative density (d204) 1.41, boiling point 120.5°C, It has strong oxidizing properties, and reacts with metals other than gold and platinum to release nitrogen dioxide or nitric oxide, which is highly corrosive.
The main purpose:
68% acid is mainly used to manufacture compound fertilizers such as ammonium nitrate, calcium ammonium nitrate, nitrophosphate, and potassium ammonium phosphate, and also to manufacture calcium, copper, and silver. Cobalt, strontium and other nitrate raw materials can also be used to prepare nitrate lipids or nitro-containing explosives.
1. In the organic industry, it is used in the manufacture of tetranitromethane, nitroethane, 1-nitropropane, 2.4-dinitrophenoxyethanol and other nitro compounds.
2. In the dye industry, it is used in the synthesis of dye intermediates such as p-nitroanisole, 4.4-dinitrodiphenyl ether, p-nitrophenol, and 2.5-dichloronitrobenzene.
3. The paint industry is used to manufacture nitro varnish and nitro enamel.
4. The pharmaceutical industry is used to manufacture intermediates such as nitroacetophenone, p-nitrobenzaldehyde, and ethyl p-nitrobenzoate.
5. In the printing and dyeing industry, it is used for indigo color discharge printing.
6. The rubber industry is used as an intermediate for the manufacture of rubber accelerator M.
