Industrial magnesium nitrate is stable at room temperature and has a 1.461 relative density. It is dehydrated at 95°C above the melting point to generate basic magnesium nitrate. It starts to decompose when heated to 300°C and completely decomposes into magnesium oxide and nitrogen oxide gas when it is above 400°C. The industrial use of industrial magnesium nitrate is mainly used as dehydrating agent of concentrated nitric acid, catalyst and other magnesium salt and nitrate raw materials, wheat ashing agent, etc.

Emergency measures in the use of industrial magnesium nitrate:
1. In case of skin contact, take off the contaminated clothes and rinse the skin completely with soapy water and clear water. If you feel uncomfortable, seek medical attention in time. Eye contact, to lift the eyelid, rinse with flowing water or normal saline, if there is discomfort, timely medical treatment. If inhaling gas containing industrial magnesium nitrate, quickly leave the site to fresh air to keep the respiratory tract unobstructed. If you eat industrial magnesium nitrate, drink plenty of warm water, induce vomiting and seek medical treatment in time.
2, industrial magnesium nitrate as a strong oxidant, in the fire can encourage any combustion of the fire, and reducing agent, organic matter, flammable materials such as sulfur, phosphorus or metal powder mixture can form an explosive mixture, high temperature decomposition, release toxic nitrogen oxide gas. Firefighters must wear air breathing apparatus, wear full-body fire protection clothing, in the wind direction. Move the container from the fire site to the open area as much as possible, and spray water to keep the fire site container cool until the fire is extinguished. Do not shoot water directly into the melt to avoid serious running fires or violent boiling splashes.
3, industrial magnesium nitrate leakage emergency treatment, isolation of leakage pollution area, strictly control access. It is recommended that emergency personnel wear dust masks and anti-toxic clothing. Do not allow the leakage to come into contact with combustible materials (such as wood, paper, oil, etc.). Contact with broken containers and spills is strictly prohibited before putting on appropriate protective clothing, and the source of leakage is cut off as much as possible, so that water does not enter the packaging container of industrial magnesium nitrate. For a small amount of industrial magnesium nitrate leakage, a clean shovel can be used to collect the leakage and place it in a clean, dry and loose container to move the container away from the leakage area. A large amount of leakage needs to be recovered and the leakage area washed with water.
